This is currently my favorite material. The black and turquoise, my two favorite colors, paired with the occasional bolt of lightning reminds me vividly of Gerald McDermott's art work. One of my top favorite storytellers and illustrators, he harkens back to my childhood filling my body with stories of Raven, Arrow Boy and so many other sweet tales. The colors and patterns trace over my heart memories of summer times out in Sante Fe, New Mexico where my grandmother introduced me to a world of landscape, art work and culture. She mirrored a group of people who's pathways were unlike others I had heard tell about, she whispered their words into my ears, sinking down into my heart.
Like a thunderbolt striking into the ground, I found home.
